The last couple of days of our cruise we were holed up at Harbour Island to weather out a howling storm. Thankfully, this island offered plenty ways for us to stay entertained. This is a golf cart world, so whenever cabin fever started to set in we were out bombing around the island exploring every corner.
Wherever we went I was obsessed with the beautiful colors and contrasts of the quaint island cottages and, in particular, their shutters. The worn and weathered condition of many of the structures was a clear indication that these shutters are not just for show, they are mandatory for residents to keep their homes safe and secure when the storms roll in.
Ready to hop in the cart with me? I want to show you my favorites….
I especially love the natural weathered wood houses with the painted trim like the one above.
Which are your favorites?
