Sun Salutations from Eze…

January 14, 2015 By splendid 9 Comments

It seems very fitting that Mimosas, the flowers that were just coming into bloom when I was leaving from our 6 month Eze~invasion a couple of years back greeted me
 at the produce market in the village square in Beaulieu~sur~mer on my first day back to the south of France.
Other sunny welcomes came my way as well, these mandarins are from my friends tree, they are so full of flavor, and seedless, a pleasure to eat any time of day.
Citrus is at it’s peak here in the South of France, the trees lining the streets of all of the villages are loaded with sunny bright, colorful fruits, it’s so beautiful. All of the markets are stocked with plenty of these fragrant, freshly~plucked lovelies as well.
Everyone’s crates runneth over. My friend is making gallons of Lemoncello to preserve the abundant crop growing in her back yard.
A random sign in the window of a chocolate shop that caught my eye, why does everything look so much more delightful when written in French?
Translation: Happy Birthday. Happy Birthday yourself.
agreed?
So what brings me to Eze this winter, you may be wondering?
Well, as our youngest fledgling is preparing to leave the nest, we thought we’d find a warmer roost to fly to, a sunny little pied~á~terre in Eze Bord~du~Mer.
So I’m over here feathering the nest, and it may surprise you that the look is Totally Modern Milly!
More images to come, but the most amazing image for today is this familiar sunrise over Corsica I saw through sleepy eyes this morning.
Surya Namaskara
{or Sun Salutations}

    Happy New Year! That sunrise is absolutely stunning and the mandarins look wonderful! The ones we buy over here in England have been so disappointing this year.

    Oh, so sad when there is a bad year of citrus, wish I could ship some up to you.
