I generally don’t include faces or names on Splendid Market, but today I’m breaking from that practice, just a bit, and sharing a few shots from the party, including some of the smiling faces that really helped to make the evening at Calypso such a fun success.
Speaking of fun with photos, I have been having WAY to much fun exploring the creative latitudes on Picmonkey which I used to put this post together. It allows one to create posts with an entire new level of expressive freedom using their editing tools, including airbrushing {um, YUM}, a bevy of fun frames, formats, fonts and so much more.
Clockwise from the left: 1. My sweet daughter, Francesca and her darling bff Bella helped out at the party by handing out hostess gifts and selling raffle tickets to benefit Children’s Hospital Uncompensated Care Fund. 2. I was so excited to see so many friends from near and far at the party. 3. When I want make sure my hair looks it’s best, I go to Seattle’s top blow out bar, SWINK where Lindsey spun her magic to make my hair look just right for the evening.
where the paparazzi really came into action.

Do you know about squinching? It’s a little thing you can do to look “more intriguing” when posing for a picture. “The look” was recently named and defined by top portrait photographer Peter Hurley, and it’s his #1 tip for being more photogenic. Here I am explaining the concept to one of the extraordinary managers from Calypso.
And “SHABAM!” {Mr. Hurley’s term} here we are “squinching” like pros {he better than me, you can squinch and smile I’ve learned}. For the how~to from the real pro click on It’s all about the Squinch…
… and if you’re interested in more advice on how to look better in photos, read his six tips for better portraits. Next, you may want to watch what he has to say on the importance of the jawline when posing for a shot {unless you want to look 10 pounds heavier on camera}. “O-NO, it’s that easy?” O-YES! He’s onto something here.
Finally, while we’re rolling video, if you haven’t seen it yet, please click on Calypso to see a witty synopsis of the evening by local photographer and producer, Geordie Foster.
Some people have asked about the bracelets I was wearing, here’s a close~up, where you can see most of them,
for more details and to find a similar set of bangles click on “What I Wore”.
Thank you again to everyone involved in this fun evening.
