Since it’s mid-September, and the temperature of the sea is reportedly dropping a fraction of a degree each day, we’ve vowed to spend as much time at the beach as possible.
Thankfully this area offers a wide variety of options in that regard, from wild, rocky inlets that look like places you may find mermaids swimming, to refined beach clubs ready to cater to your every need.
This morning, Mr. S and I hiked all the way around the Cap d’Antibes.

Stairs and solid railings make it possible to stay very close to the water most of the hike. Some parts of the trail are rough and rocky, but it’s very well kept and offers an unlimited amount of dramatic scenery.
at the end of the hike, we circled back to the beach on the road (about a 1.5 hour jaunt total).
Our new Scarpa Mojoitos proved to be the perfect footwear for this terrain.

We spent the afternoon at one of my all time favorite clubs,
Plage Keller in Cap d’Antibes {don’t mind the plastic loungers, they’re typical over here}. Here you can lounge in the sand or on the pontoon (dock).

It’s very family friendly and has both a casual restaurant on the beach and the more formal Cesars upstairs {which serves dinner, a rarity on the beaches, as well as lunch}. They also offer breakfast and lunch on the beach, brought to your lounger. My favorite dish here is the Salad Nicoise, vegetables, eggs, tuna and anchovies, the perfect beach meal, non?
I had my first pedicure in France yesterday and was of course tempted to go with the classic white stripe, but given our mission to stretch out our days on the Med for as long as possible, I stuck with my favorite summer color, Beach Bum Blues, by essie.
