For the love of the Lily

We thought we'd provide a little update on some of the flower arrangements we made during the holidays.   When time is scarce (and isn't it always?)   Who wants to devote thenselves to a fussy project that fizzles away in a few days??  We try to focus on flowers with staying powers..

They handled the trip up to the mountains quite well!

The arrangements in the holiday bouquet kit (click on the name to see the original post) held up well through the season.   They peaked about 3 weeks after they were made, most of the lillies were in full bloom and fragrance. 

In the past we have made these evergreen arrangements at the beginning of the month. When the lillies started to wilt we pulled them out, (best to do this outside, save your home from the staining stamen powder) along with anything else that looked less-than-lively.

  We reloaded the bouquet will all new lilly stems and lived with the beauty for another 3 weeks!
